Bulldog Gutter Guard
Bulldog Gutter Guard is a durable, hole-punched aluminum cover that fits over your existing gutters to help keep debris out while allowing rainwater to flow through. Acting like a protective “lid” for your gutters, it reduces clogs and helps your system work more efficiently.
This punched-aluminum design is especially effective at blocking medium to large debris such as leaves and twigs while still allowing water to drain properly. The ridges slow down the rainwater as it crosses the gutter to prevent overflow.
Overlap Design for Seamless Coverage
Bulldog is available in widths designed for 5-inch, 6-inch, and 7-inch gutters.
Each piece is overlapped with the next on straight runs and at interior and exterior corners to eliminate potential gaps.

Our Experience Installing Bulldog
We’ve installed Bulldog Gutter Guard on residential homes for more than four years, and the results have been very positive. During that time, no customer has asked us to remove an entire Bulldog system because they were unhappy with the product.
Like any gutter protection system, performance can vary depending on roof design. In a small number of cases (fewer than 5 installations), very heavy rain in specific problem areas overwhelmed the system. This usually occurs where large roof sections and multiple valleys funnel water into a single area of gutter.
This home had a tight nook near the front door where two valleys and a large roof section converged. In that situation, we replaced the Bulldog pieces in that specific area with Atlas, which is designed to handle higher water flow. This resolved the issue completely.
Compared to Other Products
We’ve tested several punched-metal leaf guards similar to Bulldog. Many alternatives were thinner, less attractive, or lower quality, often with little to no price savings compared to Bulldog.
Based on our field experience and customer feedback, Bulldog offers the best balance of durability, appearance, and price for a wide range of homes.
How the
Installation Works
When Gecko Gutter installs Bulldog Leaf Guard, we screw it directly onto the gutter for maximum strength and stability. It is installed flat across the top to stay securely in place.
We do not install Bulldog or any gutter guard underneath your shingles. Inserting products under shingles can damage the starter course (the outermost row of shingles) and may void roof or shingle warranties. Our process of installing directly to the gutter and fascia avoids these issues, and protects your roofing system.
Product Sourcing & Warranty
We source Bulldog Leaf Guard through Lansing Building Products, a national supplier of professional-grade exterior building materials. This ensures the product we install is authentic and consistent in manufacturer quality.
Bulldog is backed by a 25-year manufacturer warranty from Lansing Gutter Systems, giving you peace of mind with your purchase.

Bulldog vs. Atlas: Which Gutter Guard Is Right for Your Home?
- Areas with low to moderate water flow
- Budget-conscious homeowners seeking reliable gutter protection
- Homes with larger foliage, such as red maple, palm, and magnolia trees
- Areas with extremely heavy rain volume
- Supergutter systems
- Tile or metal roofs
- Homes with nearby pine trees or significant shingle grit
Bulldog is a very economical choice for many homes. Atlas usually has a higher installed price because it requires more labor, although both products provide excellent value compared with many heavily marketed national gutter-guard systems.
Neither product is automatically better for every home. Gecko Gutter evaluates the roof, surrounding trees, debris and expected water flow before recommending the most appropriate option.
