I’d had my eye out for a business opportunity for a while. My house badly needed gutters, and in mid-2020 the hunt for a gutter installation company began. For two weeks, I called every gutter company that looked remotely respectable. No one answered the phone. I left messages. No one called back. I thought to myself, Orlando needs a solid gutter company! Maybe this is the opportunity that I have been looking for?

After a flurry of research, and digging into all the business-ey stuff, the decision was made. In August 2020, truck and installers on board, everyone hit the ground running.

I love my job. Every day presents enjoyable human interactions, new and interesting drainage problems to solve, homeowner budgets to work with, and HOAs to please.

The biggest lesson learned in the last 5 years has been that a small business cannot thrive with the wrong employees. I have been incredibly lucky to have curated the most wonderful group of employees possible. Not only do we look out for each other, we also share the same Take Care of People philosophy. This makes every day enjoyable.

Gecko began in Apopka, and grew into Mount Dora, Maitland, and all of NW and Central Orlando. We put a second truck on the road two years ago. Loaded with a 7” gutter machine to complement our 6” machine, this allows us to offer services to customers with tile and metal roofs in need of 7” gutter. With a third truck and additional locations coming in 2025 and 2026, I am looking forward to expanding our top notch gutter services to all of Orlando.
